2nd Game Format: 7 + Goalkeeper vs. 5 Without Goalkeeper
AgeU14 - U19
Training SetMain point
Number of Players10-15 players, 16-22+ players
Setup
The players position themselves on the field as shown in the diagram, set up one goal, and build 3 cone gates. A goalkeeper goes into the full-size goal.
Procedure
The 5-player team defends three small cone gates. Attacks should be finished with a shot on goal. When the outnumbered team wins the ball, they only have 10 ball contacts to take a shot; otherwise, the play is stopped and the game restarts through the goalkeeper of the team with numerical superiority.
Tip
- The tactical setup for the team building play is a 4-2-1 against a 3-2, meaning 3 midfielders and 2 forwards whose task during the 7-player team's possession is to press and close down spaces. - The focus is now on automating the running, dribbling, and passing lanes under opponent pressure, though in numerical superiority, when attacks are initiated from different positions. The attacking variations have the same follow-up actions as in the first game format, with the addition of finishing on goal. - The 5-player team must finish within 10 touches when in possession. This is designed so that they must play forward quickly, creating game situations where the team with numerical superiority wins possession and game-realistic situations arise that involve defenders joining the attack. - The offside rule applies. - The team with numerical superiority is the team with the defensive players whose objective is to practise offensive play. - 6 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
