A goal is set up on each end of the field, with a goalkeeper in each. 8 field players are divided into four groups of 2 and positioned on the field and next to the goals as shown in the diagram. A cone is placed on each sideline to mark the halfway line.
Procedure
The goalkeeper opens the situation with a long pass to striker I, who is positioned deep in the opposing 18-yard box, makes a check-away move, and indicates the passing lane with his run. With the goalkeeper's backswing, player J also makes a check-away move and runs toward strike partner I to offer another passing option. The two defenders try to prevent the attackers from finishing. If they win the duel with possession, they may launch a counterattack. After each attack, the build-up alternates so that each goalkeeper plays the opening pass.
Tip
- The defenders try to close down the attacker as early as possible so that the attacker cannot build up speed, and if possible position their bodies between themselves and the attacker with the shoulder forward. - The defender tries to catch up to the attacker, close down the passing lane, or push him to the side. - The defender tries to win the duel by gaining possession. - The defender should close off the path to the goal. Stand offset to the side so that the attacker must take the route away from the goal. - The attackers try to finish the attack quickly. - The supporting attacker can break free with a decoy run, briefly creating a numerical advantage. - 2 full-size goal(s)
