A rectangle at 18-yard-box height is marked out with cones. A goal is set up on the end line, with a goalkeeper inside. 8 field players are positioned as shown in the diagram. A cone is placed at the halfway line where the two starting players with ball position themselves. One player positions himself inside the rectangle. Two players are positioned next to the goal, one next to the rectangle, and two more at the starting cone.
Procedure
The attackers must try to beat the defenders in the rectangle. If they get through the rectangle with the ball, the defenders are no longer allowed to follow them into the 18-yard box. Now the strikers try to score a goal. The second defender may only sprint from the end line into the zone after the attacking player has started dribbling.
Tip
- The attacker tries to use his sprint speed advantage. - The second attacking player makes himself available on the side. Optionally, he can also make an overlapping run past the ball carrier. - The defender tries to close down the attacker as early as possible so that the attacker cannot build up speed, if possible positions his body between himself and the attacker with the shoulder forward, and closes down the passing lane. - The defender should close off the path to the goal and push the attacker to the side. Stand offset to the side so that the attacker must take the route away from the goal. - 5 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
