A rectangle at 18-yard-box height is marked out with cones. A goal is set up on the end line, with a goalkeeper inside. 10 field players are positioned as shown in the diagram. A cone is placed in front of the rectangle where the three starting players with ball position themselves. Two defenders position themselves inside the rectangle.
Procedure
The attacking players try to beat the defenders in the rectangle. If the attacking team successfully gets through the zone, they can finish on goal without defensive pressure.
Tip
- The dribbler tries to use his sprint speed advantage and draw a defender to himself. - The team with the numerical advantage must push the attack forward quickly and use the full width of the field. The pass to the teammate must not come too late. - The defender tries to close down the attacker as early as possible so that the attacker cannot build up speed, and if possible positions his body between himself and the attacker with the shoulder forward. The second defender covers him or closes down the passing lane. - The defender should close off the path to the goal and push the attacker to the side. Stand offset to the side so that the attacker must take the route away from the goal. - 5 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
