360 degree turn

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

The players find space within the playing area and each has a ball.

Procedure

The player starts dribbling. If he dribbles with his right foot, he lifts his leg up so that his knee makes a 90 degree angle. He then touches the ball with his the sole of his right foot, turns 180 degrees to the left, over his left shoulder, and places his left foot down next to the ball (with his back to his opponent). He then drags the ball back with the sole of his left foot (with his left leg bent 90 degreed as before) and turns a further 180 degrees. The player has now returned to his starting position. During this movement, the player should place his left leg down next to the ball and move off to the right, using the outside of his right foot.

Tip

- Turn into the opponent, sprint away off to the side. - At first practice slowly. - To turn correctly, the player can place his hand on the shoulder over which he would like to turn. - Quick, fluid movements.
