4 against 4 on 1/4 of the field

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

Cones are used to mark out 1/4 of the field according to the graphic. Two teams of 4 are playing against eachother.

Procedure

The teams have the task of moving from one part of the field to the other. There are two ways to do this: a) You can play a pass to the other quarter, which must be brought under control by your teammate. The teammate can only enter the other quarter after the passing player has shoot the ball. b) You play with a double pass in the other quarter, i.e. with 2 contacts or dribble into the other field (square). If this succeeds, the team receives a point and remains in possession of the ball. After each point, the players switch to the half of the field in which the pass, dribbling or double pass took place and then start again without a break in the other direction.

Tip

- Triangles have to be formed again and again to offer pass options. - The team without the ball tries to block the pass routes and rooms skillfully and puts constant pressure on the player who owns the ball and his teammates. Long play in a narrow space should be avoided. Therefore, side changes or passes in depth should be played regularly. - The players should be in an open play position (outline in the back) so that you can always keep an eye on the next pass. - This form of play requires an enormous amount of running and understanding of the game and is characterized by constant communication and an interplay between the two squares. - This form of play trains the short pass game, play in tight spaces and quickly change sides. - The team in possession of the ball should have occupied the outsides and the back area as well as a player who moves at the level of the defense formations to play passes in depth. - 6 cones
