AgeU6 - U13, U14 - U19
Training SetProgression, Main point
Number of Players6 - 9 players, 10-15 players
Setup
A field corresponding to 1/4 of a half is marked out with cones. Two teams of 4 are formed to play against each other. nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnn
Procedure
The teams' objective is to dribble the ball over the end line. If a team succeeds, they earn a point and keep possession. They then immediately try to dribble over the opposite line. The team not in possession tries to win the ball and collect points themselves.
Tip
- Triangles must be constantly formed to provide passing options. - The passing game alternates between many short passes, switches of play, and through balls. - The teams should be in constant motion. Players continuously try to make themselves available as passing options for their teammates. - The team without possession tries to cleverly close passing lanes and spaces and applies pressure on the player in possession and nearby opponents. - Passing targets should adopt an open body position (sideline at their back) so they can always see the next passing option. - This game format requires an enormous amount of running and tactical understanding and is characterised by constant communication and interplay between both rectangles. - This game format trains short passing, playing in tight spaces, passes behind the defence, and quick switches of play. - The team in possession should have the flanks and back covered, along with a player moving at the level of the defensive line to receive through balls. - 4 cones
