4 vs 4 on one goal

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point

Setup

Two teams of 4 are formed. The field is the penalty area. A goalkeeper is in the goal. A neutral target player stands at the arc of the penalty area. The balls are with the target player.

Procedure

The game is played 4 vs 4. Play always starts from the target player. The team in possession tries to score; the defending team tries to prevent it. If the attacking team loses the ball, the defending team must first pass to the neutral target player before they can attack themselves. If the attacking team scores, they keep possession.

Tip

- A constant interplay of attack and defence develops. - Each defender should mark an attacker. - The objective for defenders is to win possession or close passing lanes. - On offence, constant movement and quick, precise passing are required. - Due to the small playing area inside the penalty box, nearly every possession creates a shooting opportunity. - For defenders, this means constant active tackling. - 1 full-size goal(s)
