Set up 3 adjacent cone squares (Field 1, Field 2, Field 3). 3 teams of 5 players each are formed (team red, team blue, and team yellow).
Procedure
The game starts in the following setup. In Field 1, 5 vs 2 is played (team red against 2 players from team blue). In Field 2 (neutral field), the remaining 3 blue players wait. In Field 3, team yellow is located. Sequence: The red team players pass with one touch each. Blue tries to win the ball. If red manages 7 touches, they may play a long ball into Field 3 to the yellow team. In this case, 2 blue players from Field 2 would sprint into Field 3 and try to win the ball from team yellow there. The remaining two blue players from Field 1 move to the neutral zone. If blue wins the ball in Field 3, the remaining blue players switch to Field 3 and three yellow players go to Field 2. Now team blue plays against 2 yellow players. After 7 touches, the long ball to Field 1 can be played again, where 5 red play against 2 yellow, etc.
Tip
- Attention should be paid to precise and powerful passing. - The team in possession must be positioned so that all sides of the square and possibly the centre are occupied. - Triangles should be formed to provide passing options. - The passing alternates between many short passes and occasional long passes to switch fields. - The players constantly try to be available as passing options for their teammates. - The team without the ball tries to cleverly close down passing lanes and spaces and constantly presses the ball carrier and his neighbors. - The wide players should adopt an open body position (sideline behind them) so they can always see the next passing option. - This game format trains short passing/triangle play and long passing as well as playing in tight spaces with permanent zone changes. - 8 cones
