Set up a cone square according to the diagram. 8 players are divided into 2 teams. One team has 5 (red), the other team has 3 players (blue).
Procedure
4 players from the red team distribute themselves on the 4 sides of the cone square. The fifth red player goes into the centre of the square. The three blue players also go into the cone square. Red has the ball and passes among themselves. The blue team must prevent this. The 4 red outside players have 2 touches; the red centre player has one. If team blue wins the ball, they immediately return it to red. After 1 minute, the 3 blue players switch positions with 3 red players.
Tip
- Attention should be paid to precise and powerful passing. - The team in possession must be positioned so that all sides of the field and the centre are occupied. - Triangles must be formed constantly to provide passing options. - The passing alternates between many short passes and occasional long passes to switch the side. - The players constantly try to be available as passing options for their teammates. - The team without the ball tries to cleverly close down passing lanes and spaces and constantly presses the ball carrier and his neighbors. - The wide players should adopt an open body position (sideline behind them) so they can always see the next passing option. - This game format trains short passing/triangle play and playing in tight spaces. - 4 cones
