A rectangular field is marked with cones. Inside the field, 6 cone goals are set up facing each other. A seventh cone goal is placed in the centre of the field. 2 teams of 5 players each are formed (red and blue).
Procedure
The two teams play against each other with free play. Each team defends three goals on one side. Goals may be scored from both the front and the back. On the centre goal, goals may only be scored by completing a one-two through the goal. If the team keeps possession after scoring, they may immediately attack another goal.
Tip
- The focus of this game format is on practising defensive movement patterns with the follow-up actions of 'quick transition from defence to attack' and ball control after winning possession. Additionally, the team in possession practices off-the-ball movement with the goal of scoring. - The objective for defenders is either to win possession or to force the attacker with the ball into a non-dangerous area toward the side, blocking the passing lane to the goal or to a teammate through double-teaming or tucking in. The midfielder tries to double-team or close the passing lane. - Triangles must be constantly formed to provide passing options. - The teams should be in constant motion. Players continuously try to make themselves available as passing options for their teammates. - Getting locked into a tight space should be avoided. Therefore, switching the point of attack and through balls should be played regularly. - This game format requires an enormous amount of running and tactical understanding and is characterised by constant communication. - 18 cones
