A field with 3 zones is marked out with cones. A goal is placed at each end with a goalkeeper in each. Two teams of 8 (blue and red) are formed. The balls are distributed between the goals. Zones: Goal-near zones: Free play. Only the two defenders and two strikers may be in these zones. Middle zone: 2 touches. Any number of players.
Procedure
8 vs 8 is played. Due to the limited touches in the middle zone, players are forced to bridge it quickly and play the ball to the strikers. In the goal-near zones, the strikers are required to seek 1 vs 1 situations and dribble.
Tip
- The defenders try to close down spaces and block passing lanes during the build-up. - When the wing player has the ball, each defender marks an attacker. - After winning the ball, the defender or goalkeeper immediately initiates the counterattack through the wing players. - The teams should be in constant motion. Players constantly try to make themselves available as passing options for their teammates. - At least two players from the team in possession cross and move toward the near and far post, while the third player drops into the space behind. This gives the crosser various passing options. - This game format is characterised by constant communication and a constant interplay between attack and defence. - The strikers must repeatedly beat their opponents 1 vs 1 and try to finish - After completing the offensive action, the team must immediately switch to defence, as the goalkeeper initiates the counterattack. - The defender blocks the running and passing lanes to goal and forces the attacker wide. - In midfield, a movement and passing game develops with the goal of playing the ball to a striker. - 8 cones, 2 full-size goal(s)
