6 against 6 with 3 teams

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point

Setup

Using cones, a playing field with 3 zones is built up according to the graphic. A goal is built at both ends of the field, into which a goalkeeper positiones. In addition to the field at the center of the field, another field is staked out with cones. 3 teams of 6 players each are formed (team red, blue and team yellow).

Procedure

There are always two teams playing against each other. The third team (yellow) plays in the cone square next to the field 4 against 2 (rules: the 4 outside players have a maximum of 2 contacts. If one of the middle players touches the ball, the player who was in the middle the longest swaps the place with the one that has lost the ball.) The two teams of 6 playing against each other have free play in the central zone and only one contact in the two zones in front of the goals. After 2-3 minutes, the team in possession of the ball has to play a long pass on the 4 against 2 yellow team and swap positions with them immediately. The game continues on the same principle.

Tip

- The focus of this game form is on the one hand on ball control with the options of 'quickly switching from defense to attack'. On the other hand, this form of play trains the combination game, free-wheeling game and attack the team in possession of the ball. - The team without the ball tries to block the pass routes and rooms skillfully and put constant pressure on the player who owns the ball and his teammates. - The teams should be constantly on the move. The players constantly try to offer themselves and to be available to their fellow players as a passing possebility. - In the end zones, a quick game in the top or quick goal completion is trained due to the limited number of ball contacts. - There is an interplay with the outside team. This trains the passing game in 4 against 2. - 12 cones, 2 large field goal (s)
