6 vs 5 + 1

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 10-15 players

Setup

With six cones, a field is built up according to the graphic. The red marker cones divide the field in two halves. Two teams of six are formed. 11 players (6 red and 5 blue) move to one half of the field. The remaining blue player is in the other half.

Procedure

The red team is in possession of the ball and plays against the 5 blue players on ball hold without any ball contact restrictions. If the blue team conquers the ball, they must play towards their blue teammate in the other half of the game and can then play 6 against 5 in this half of the game. As a result, a red player must stay on the other side. There is a constant interplay dominace and inferior situations. Alternative: restriction of ball contacts.

Tip

- Triangles have to be formed again and again to offer play stations. - The passing game alternates between many short passes and long passes to shift the playing zone. - The teams should be constantly on the move. The players constantly try to offer themselves and to be available to their fellow players as a reference station. - The team without ball possession tries to block the pass routes and rooms skillfully and puts constant pressure on the player in possession of the ball and his teammates. - The players should try to adopt an open game position so that you can always keep an eye on the next player. - This form of play requires an enormous amount of running and understanding of the game and is characterized by constant communication and zone changes. In addition, it trains the short pass game, play in tight spaces and quickly changing sides. - The team in possession of the ball should have occupied the outsides, the center or the half positions. - 6 cones
