A field with 3 zones is set up using cones as shown in the diagram. A goal is placed at each end of the field, with a goalkeeper in each. Next to the field at midfield height, an additional area is marked with cones. 3 teams of 6 players each are formed (team red, blue, and team yellow).
Procedure
Two teams always play against each other. The third team (yellow) plays 4 vs 2 in the cone rectangle beside the field (Rules: The 4 outside players have a maximum of 2 touches. If one of the middle players touches the ball, the player who has been in the middle the longest swaps with the one who lost the ball.) The two competing teams of 6 have free play in the middle zone and only one touch in both zones near the goals. After 2-3 minutes, the team in possession must play a long pass to the yellow team playing 4 vs 2 and immediately swap positions with them. The game continues following the same principle.
Tip
- The focus of this game format is on ball control with the option of 'quick transition from defence to attack.' Additionally, this game format trains combination play, off-the-ball movement, and pressing of the team in possession. - The team without possession tries to cleverly close passing lanes and spaces and applies constant pressure on the player in possession and nearby opponents. - The teams should be in constant motion. Players continuously try to make themselves available as passing options for their teammates. - In the end zones, the restricted touch count trains quick play toward goal and fast finishing. - The waiting team creates an interplay element. They train their passing in the 4 vs 2. - 12 cones, 2 full-size goal(s)
