Procedure

  • The game is played freely in a 6 vs 6 format. The red team aims to pass into one of the four mini goals on the midfield line. The blue team aims for the full-size goal. The game always restarts with the goalkeeper.
  • Both teams' basic formation consists of a back four and 2 midfielders (6's).

Tip

Coaching Points

  • When the ball is in the opponent's half/near the opponent's full-back: the ball-near center-back covers overlapping.
  • Move compactly towards the ball.
  • A center-back can push up to double up as long as it doesn't create a numerical disadvantage in the center.
  • Double up in a slight staggered formation.
  • When doubling up, don't stray too far from the full-back; otherwise, the 2 vs 1 becomes a 1 vs 1.
