8 against 8 + goalkeeper alternating with three teams of 8

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point

Setup

16 field players go into the upper half of the field according to the graphic and position a goal on each of the two baselines. The 8-player blue team positions two players in the storm, one on the right and one on the left, two midfielders in the half-field and two central defenders / players on the center line. The yellow-red, defensive team of 8 positions itself 20 m in front of its own goal in a chain of four defensive lines (distances between each other 8-12 meters) and in front of it the four-medium field chain. The red and white team is positioned 20-25 m in front of their own goal in the 4-4 formation on line (distances between them 8-12 meters). Two gray players stand on the center line. There is a goalkeeper in each of the two goals.

Procedure

Three teams of eight are formed. The blue team plays against the yellow-red team. At the end of the attack or when the defending team wins the ball and passes to one of the two gray players on the center line, the yellow-red team towards the opposite goal becomes the attacking team, takes the 2-4-2 formation and plays against the red and white team. After completing this game situation, the red and white team plays towards the opposite goal against the blue team, which has built up there in the 4-4 formation. The defense and midfield chain is constantly encouraged to run the chain of four. The goalkeeper acts as a kind of libero and organizer. The team in the 2-4-2 formation tries to score a goal by fast ball circulation, side shifting, hind legs, dribbling, flanks and through passes in depth. The offside rule applies. This form of play takes place constantly in alternation (attack and defense game alternately).

Tip

The focus of this game form lies in the learning of the defensive running ways, on the training of the offensive game against two chains of 4 and on the quick switching from defense to attack. - On the offensive, permanent movement, talking to each other and fast, precise passing play are required. According to the 2-4-2 formation, the players have to be staggered in depth and consequently moving on a line must be avoided (depth staggering means creation of play stations). - The defenders and midfielders always act in a group and mustn't be too far apart. - The goal for the defenders is either to get possession of the ball or to push the attacker who has the ball to the side into the goal-safe area and to double the pass route to the goal / to the other player. - The task of the defender close to the ball is to press on the ball-carrying player. The other two defensive players secure the back area (defense triangle). - Passes down to the strikers cause the defense chain to move forward. Moving the ball forward forces the defense chain to move forward to the side. The result is that the attacking team is given rooms in depth, as well as the opportunity to pass through a diagonal ball on the vacated side. - The pass players in the back area mustn't run too close to the team in front and should always keep a distance of 25-30 meters from the attackers so that they have the game happening permanently in front of them and can 'run' into the balls so that the ball can make contact quickly to be able to forward. - 2 large field goals (s)
