8 against 8 in two eighth of the field

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point

Setup

With six cones a field is staked out, which corresponds to a quarter of a field. Two teams of 8 are formed and each half (4 players per team) is divided between the two squares that play against each other.

Procedure

Both teams play against each other with the aim of keeping the ball in their own ranks. The team in possession of the ball should prevent the other team from taking possession of the ball with a wide and deep passing game. The other team has to try to conquer the ball through aggressive duel behavior and an orderly attack behavior. There is a constant 4 against 4 interplay in the quadrilaterals, since the ball-owner repeatedly tries to transfer it to the second quadrilateral. Different levels of difficulty: - Free play - 2 contacts - 1 contact

Tip

- Triangles have to be formed again and again to offer play stations. - The passing game alternates between many short passes and long passes to shift the playing zone. - The teams should be constantly on the move. The players constantly try to offer themselves and to be available to their fellow players as a reference station. - The team without the ball tries to pass the pass routes and rooms skillfully and puts constant pressure on the player who owns the ball and his teammates. - The team waiting for the ball must run free and signal to the ball-owning team that it is playable towards. - A festival in a narrow space should be avoided. Therefore, side changes or passes in depth should be played regularly. - The players should be in an open play position (outline in the back) so that you can always keep an eye on the next pass. - This form of play requires an enormous amount of running and understanding of the game and is characterized by constant communication and an interplay between the two squares. - This form of play trains the short pass game, play in tight spaces and quickly change sides. - 6 cones
