Attack and defense against a goal

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point

Setup

2 teams of 7 players are formed. There is another player and a goal with the goalkeeper. The size of the field corresponds to one half of the field.

Procedure

The player starts the game with a pass to the attacking team (blue). Team blue now has the opportunity to shoot the goal. If the other team (red) conquers the ball, it must try to pass the ball to the player. If this succeeds, the right to attack changes and team red starts the next attack. Alternative: Team blue has 3 minutes to score. If the red team conquers the ball, it must try to pass the ball to the player. Team blue then starts a new attack. After a goal, the player also starts again. After the 3 minutes, the teams change positions and team red attacks and blue defends. The normal game rules with throw-in, corner kick, free kick etc. apply during the game.

Tip

- There is a constant interplay of attack and defense. - Both teams should have set up a defensive and offensive line-up beforehand. - The goal for the defenders is to either get possession of the ball or to push the attacker who has the ball to the side into the goal-safe area and to block the pass route to the goal / opponent by double or indenting. The midfielder tries to double or to block the pass. - On the offensive, permanent movement and a fast, precise passing game are required. In doing so, the players should be staggered in depth and consequently moving on a line should be avoided (depth staggering means creating passing options). The outside lane players should use the width of the field and be positioned on the outside line. - If the attack is carried out via the outside lane players, the players try to run from behind in the half field or act as passport recipients and flankers in the back area. The outside player has the option to dribble, cross, pass the ball or shoot on goal. - 1 large field goal (s)
