Attacking pattern with a single striker II

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 10-15 players

Setup

On one end of the field, a goal is set up with a goalkeeper. 10 field players are positioned on the field as shown in the diagram. The balls are at the centre circle.

Procedure

Player C plays a through ball to striker I (1), who lays it off to the oncoming player B (2). B now plays a diagonal pass into the run of E (3) and moves together with the other players toward the penalty area. E receives the ball and dribbles toward the goal line (4), from where he delivers a cross into the penalty area so that the ball arrives about 6-11 metres from the goal (5). The supporting players try to finish the cross. Afterward, the drill starts from the right side.

Tip

- Make sure the rehearsed movement patterns lead to a quick, fluid overall movement. - The eyes should regularly be lifted from the ball (alternating glances toward the ball and forward). - The player expecting the pass makes a short check-away run as the passer begins his backswing. - The pass should be played into the path of the starting player. - The passer must observe the running path of the player expecting the ball. - 1 full-size goal(s)
