Attacks over the middle with options level 3 combination variants I-III

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 10-15 players

Setup

On two halves of the field, two pass stations are set up with cones according to the graphic. One player goes to the cones II, III, V and VI, and three players to the cones I and IV. The balls are in the goal. There is a goalkeeper possitioned in the goal.

Procedure

The exercise starts with a long throw, tee or kick from the goalkeeper onto player A (1). A plays the ball towards the cone I to player B (2) and runs diagonally to the center of the field, where B plays the ball into the run (3). Player A passes the ball there further into the course of player C (4), who comes to finish (5). A now goes to cone II and B goes to the position of C to cone VI. Player C goes to cone I after the shot on goal (5). Then the next attack at cone IV starts, by the goalkeeper passing the ball to player D and passing the ball on to E.

Tip

- Make sure that the rehearsed movement patterns lead to a fast, fluid overall movement. - Always demand accuracy and speed (the slow execution does not lead to success in the game). - Players should learn to observe (similar to the game) and be able to apply what they have observed. - Correct the errors again and again to prevent incorrect automatisms being looped in. - The view should be released from the ball regularly (alternating gaze towards the ball and towards the front). - The player expecting the pass makes a short counter-movement at the same time as the pass-out movement. - The pass should be played in the path of the ball-waiting starter. - The pass player must observe the path of the player waiting for the ball. - This combination of passes requires a high level of game intelligence and a balance of accuracy of fit, start timing and the right walking paths. - This is a game-based attack variant over the middle and at the beginning of the first pass combination with the positioning of two strikers, two midfielders in the half field and two central defenders. - 6 cones, 1 large field goal (s)
