Back three - Basic formation

Setup

Three players (blue A, B, and C defenders) are positioned on the field as shown in the diagram.

Procedure

The players line up in the basic formation of the back three, i.e., in a line, to get a feel for the distances between each other.

Tip

- This is a static walkthrough exercise and serves to learn and understand the distances between players. - Learning the back three formation is a preparatory exercise for learning player behaviour in the back four. - The distances between players A, B, and C are 7-12 metres each. - 1 full-size goal(s)
