Ball Control and Passing with High Balls

Setup

• 1 wall/rebounder

Procedure

The player stands 2-3m away from the rebounder and performs the following tasks:

  • Play the ball directly and high against the wall using the inside of the foot. If the task is too difficult, the ball can bounce once after each pass against the wall.
  • Play the ball high against the wall with a second touch. If the task is too difficult, the ball can bounce once after each pass against the wall.
  • Throw the ball against the wall, pass it back with the instep of the left/right foot, and catch the ball again.
  • Throw the ball against the wall, control it with the chest, and pass it against the wall with the inside of the foot. Catch the ball again.
  • Head the ball against the wall.
  • Play the ball against the wall exclusively with the inside of the left/right foot.
  • Play the ball as a drop-kick against the wall.
  • Alternately play the ball directly and with two touches against the wall.

Tip

Coaching Points

  • Avoid leaning back.
  • Keep the ankle firm.
  • Adopt a ready position anticipating the ball.
