Ball Control Techniques and Moves - Dribbling with Shot on Goal
AgeU6 - U13, U14 - U19
Training SetMain point
Number of Players1 - 5 players
Setup
Set up a cone course with a mini goal as shown. The group positions at the starting cone. Each player should have a ball. If this is not possible, instruct the players to quickly retrieve their ball after the shot to pass it to the next player without a ball.
Procedure
The player starts at the starting cone with a speed dribble. He passes the first cone on the left, then immediately chops right toward the next cone. He approaches this cone from the right, dribbles around it, and continues at speed to the next cone, behind which he immediately chops right toward the goal. Now at maximum speed, approx. 2 metres from the second-to-last cone, he executes a move, passes it, and chops right again before the last cone. The shot on goal is taken with the right foot. Alternately, the player should also chop left before the last cone to also finish with the left foot. After each run, the player lines up behind the group again.
Tip
- Close ball control (ball should not be more than 50 cm from the foot). - Maximum tempo during execution. - Around the cones, the ball is always dribbled with the foot farthest from the cone. - The chop is made immediately behind the cone (as close as possible). - Instead of the "move cone," the coach can also take this position. This gives the move execution a more game-like application. - The shot on goal is taken immediately after the player beats the last cone. - 1 mini goal(s), 6 cones
