  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Progression
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

  • Cones to mark starting positions
  • Assign 2 defenders, 2 midfielders, and one number ten (attacking midfielder)

Procedure

  • After the center-back shifts the play to one side, both midfielders shift simultaneously, ensuring diagonal staggering. Once the far-side midfielder receives the ball, they turn and play a deep pass to the number ten. The player receives the ball and lays it off to the near-side midfielder, who then plays it back to the first center-back, restarting the passing sequence.

Tip

  • Emphasize precise and sharp passing into open positions.
  • Encourage audible coaching cues (turn, layoff).
