Setup
A passing station is set up with cones according to the respective variation. Three players go to cone I, two players to cone II, and one player to cone III. The balls are at starting cone I.
Procedure
Variation 1: Player B passes the ball to player C and follows his pass to cone II. C passes the ball to player D and runs to cone III. Simultaneously with C's backswing, player D starts toward the ball and passes it directly into the running path of player E. D lines up at cone II, player E tries to score a goal and moves to cone I. This sequence now repeats continuously. Variation 2: Player B plays a one-two with player D, then passes to C and runs to cone II. C passes the ball to D and stands next to cone II. Player D passes it directly into the running path of player E, who tries to score. D runs to cone III and player E moves to cone I after shooting. Variation 3: Player B plays a long pass into the running path of player D and runs to cone II. D then passes into the run of player C and positions himself at cone II. C passes the ball into the running path of E, who tries to score. C lines up at cone III and player E moves to cone I after shooting.
Tip
- Make sure the rehearsed movement patterns lead to a fast, fluid overall movement. - Constantly demand accuracy and tempo (slow execution will not lead to match-realistic success in the long run). - Players should learn (similar to a match) to observe and apply what they have observed. - Constantly correct mistakes to prevent the development of wrong automatisms. - Eyes should regularly be lifted from the ball (alternating gaze between ball and forward). - The player expecting the pass makes a short check-away move at the same time as the passer's backswing. - The pass should be played into the running path of the player expecting the ball. - The passer must observe the running path of the player expecting the ball. - These passing combinations require a high degree of game intelligence and a harmony of passing accuracy, starting timing, and correct running paths. - 9 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
