  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

Set up a 3 m wide cone goal inside a goal. The goalkeeper coach positions himself 6 m away directly in front of the cone goal, where the goalkeeper stands. The balls are with the goalkeeper coach.

Procedure

The goalkeeper coach shoots hard, powerful balls at the cone goal that the goalkeeper must save.

Tip

- Due to the hard instep shots from the goalkeeper coach at close range, the goalkeeper is forced to react extremely quickly. Therefore, the focus of this exercise is clearly on training reaction speed and reducing fear of hard shots. - Adjust the shot power to the goalkeeper's age. - Vary the shots as low, half-high, and high balls. - The feet point toward the shooter and are about hip-width apart, the upper body leans slightly forward, and the eyes fix on the ball. - Balls should be deflected to the side. - After each shot, the goalkeeper must immediately react to the next ball. - A shot series consists of 6 shots, followed by a 1-3 minute break. - 1 full-size goal(s)
