  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Progression
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

Pitch: Set up three large triangles of 3 cones each next to one another, each in its own colour. In front of them, in a different order, lie three small triangles in the same three colours.

Equipment: 18 cones in three colours, 1 ball per player as well as 1 ball for the coach.

Players: Every player has a ball and moves freely in the area of the large triangles. The coach stands with the ball by the small triangles.

Procedure

  • The players move freely in the playing area and perform Coerver exercises that the coach calls out.
  • At some point the coach places or rolls the ball into one of the 3 small triangles.
  • The players have to notice this themselves and dribble into the large triangle of the same colour as quickly as possible.
  • The last 3 players receive an additional task, for example press-ups.
  • After that play continues as normal.

Note: Drill idea by Eddie Plickat.

Tip

  • Pay attention to the correct execution of the Coerver exercises.
  • It is important to look up from the ball and look forwards onto the pitch, in order to perceive the free space later in the game.
