Coordination Dribbling

Setup

  • Cones to mark the field
  • Each player has a ball

Procedure

  • Players dribble within the field and perform coordinative exercises according to the coach's commands. Dribbling is done with both feet at a relaxed pace.
  • Knee Stops: The ball is stopped from dribbling once with the left knee and once with the right knee.
  • Hip Stops: The ball is stopped from dribbling using the hip.
  • Ball Juggling: The ball is juggled between the inside of the feet.
  • Alternating Jumps: Using quick alternating jumps, players touch the ball alternately with the left and right instep. Players perform backward movements during this exercise.

Tip

Coaching Points:

  • Occasionally look away from the ball.
  • Orientate with shoulder glances during alternating jumps.
  • Dribble the ball with both feet, closely and variably (inside, instep, sole, outside).
