Setup

The diagram shows the position-based defensive free kick arrangement for a cross from the left side. The back four with players A-D stands in a line at the level of the penalty area line. In front of players A, B, and C, approximately at the level of the penalty arc, stand players F, G, and H. The left midfielder E forms a one-man wall. The left striker I stands tucked in, in a diagonal extension from E. The right striker J stands centrally in front of the midfield line. The goalkeeper stands just in front of the 6-yard box line.
