  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players, 16-22+ players

Setup

Pitch: Mark out an area of 30 x 25 metres with four cones.

Goals: On each of the short sides there are two dribbling goals made of flat markers in one colour. On each of the longer sides there are 2 mini goals, with a dribbling goal made of flat markers in another colour between them.

Equipment: Cones, 4 mini goals, flat markers in two colours for the dribbling goals, bibs in three colours, balls.

Players: The players are divided into 3 teams. One team plays on the dribbling goals of the short sides, one team on the dribbling goals between the mini goals and one team on the mini goals.

Procedure

  • The three teams play against each other together in the playing area.
  • Each team may only score on the goals assigned to it.
  • After a goal the team stays in possession; the goal that was scored in is closed until the next goal.

Progression:

  • Set more difficult tasks for stronger teams, for example assign a type of goal that is harder to reach.

Note: Drill idea by Eddie Plickat.

Tip

  • Free team-mates should always be on the move and available for a pass in order to create options.
  • The defending teams should coordinate with each other and work together.
  • After winning the ball the critical zone should be left immediately and the quickest route to the team's own goal should be sought.
