Approximately 9-12 dummy figures (alternative: poles with base stands) are set up 6 m in front of the goal. The goalkeepers stand in the goal; the goalkeeper coaches (GC) with balls are 11-16 m away in front of or beside the goals.
Procedure
The three GCs shoot at the goals. Depending on shot height and accuracy, the balls are deflected by the dummies, forcing the goalkeepers to react quickly to the change in direction.
Tip
- The goalkeeper must anticipate the ball's flight path very quickly. This trains reaction speed. - The goalkeeper should try to hold the balls whenever possible. If unable to do so, they should parry the balls to the side. - Just before the coach strikes the ball, the goalkeeper makes a small two-footed hop or a short step forward, spreads the arms to the sides, slightly bends at the knees, and stands on the balls of the feet. The feet point toward the coach and are about hip-width apart; the upper body leans slightly forward and the eyes track the ball. - Proper footwork technique is crucial here to be able to push off the ground quickly and firmly. - 12 pole(s), 2 mini goal(s), 1 full-size goal(s)
