Setup

Two 8x8 metre squares are set up on the flanks (left and right) at penalty area height. Two more are placed 35 m away on the flanks, one in the centre of the field at penalty area height, and one at the arc near the midfield line. The goalkeeper goes into the goal, and two field players position themselves in each square as shown in the diagram.

Procedure

In each square stand 2 players. One player receives the ball; the other passes it on. The sequence is as follows: A1 passes to the goalkeeper. The goalkeeper plays a long ball to A3, who lays it off to A4. A4 then plays a long ball to A2. B1 passes to the goalkeeper, who throws a long ball to B3, who lays it off to B4. B4 then plays a long ball to B2. C1 passes to the goalkeeper, who plays a long drop kick to C3, who lays it off to C4. C4 then passes a long ball to C2. The respective passing groups start as follows: 1. A1 passes to the goalkeeper. 2. After the goalkeeper's pass to A3, B1 starts with his pass to the goalkeeper. 3. After the goalkeeper's pass to B3, C1 starts with his pass to the goalkeeper. 4. After the goalkeeper's pass to C3, A1 starts with his pass to the goalkeeper, etc.

Tip

- Accurate passing. - Communicate with each other. Help each other and call for the ball. - The goalkeeper can choose whether to throw, roll, take a goal kick, punt, or pass after controlling the ball. - This game format practices a game-realistic build-up through the goalkeeper. - Instep strike (full instep): The toes point downward, the ankle is tense, and the upper body leans slightly over the ball. The contact surface is the back area of the top of the foot. To achieve greater distance, a slight backward lean is permitted. - Driven inside-of-the-foot pass: The ball is struck partly with the inside of the foot and partly with the instep. The plant foot is positioned beside the ball, and the player's upper body goes into a leaning position. The toes point downward, similar to the foot position for the instep strike. Drop kick technique: For the drop kick, the ball is struck with the instep at the exact moment it touches the ground. - For the frontal punt as a volley, the upper body leans slightly forward. The ball is tossed slightly forward from both hands and struck at a low point (not too high). This gives the ball strong power and high accuracy. The contact surface is the full instep. To achieve greater punting distance, it helps to straighten or slightly lean the upper body backward. - For the side-arm scissor kick punt, the plant foot is positioned beside the ball, and the player's upper body goes into a leaning position. The toes point downward, similar to the foot position for the instep strike. The contact surface is the full instep; the kicking leg is angled diagonally, and the ball is lightly guided/tossed toward the kicking leg with the hand. - For the side-arm throw, the arm is stretched backward like a javelin thrower's, and the ball is placed on the open palm. The extended arm is then brought forward under tension, passing close to the ear. The brace step is important here. If the goalkeeper throws with the right arm, the left leg is positioned forward and offset. If throwing with the left, the right leg is forward and offset. The throwing technique can be practised against a rebound wall, and afterward the throwing action can be incorporated into shot-stopping training by requiring a caught ball to be thrown into a goal placed at any distance. - For rolling the ball, the ball rests on the palm, the player takes a split stance (the leg farther from the ball is forward), and both legs bend (squat position). If rolling with the right arm, the left leg is placed in front of the right. Simultaneously, the body weight shifts to the left leg. The right arm swings forcefully forward toward the ground, placing the ball on the ground. The hand pushes the ball forward and guides the direction. The left arm simultaneously makes a countermotion backward. The upper body leans slightly forward. - The ball can be received and carried with the right or left inside/outside of the foot. - For high passes/back passes, the ball must be controlled by the goalkeeper at the moment of ground contact. With correct execution, the ball does not bounce off the ground and can be carried directly. - To prevent the ball from bouncing and ensure a smooth, quick first touch, the goalkeeper must have good timing and proper ball-handling technique. - Using the example of receiving and carrying the ball with the right inside of the foot, the movement looks like this: the goalkeeper must take the ball with the inside of the foot at the moment it touches the ground. The leg swings from right to left toward the ball. The foot is guided slightly from top to bottom toward the ball (similar to the foot movement when shooting, just with less backswing), preventing the ball from bouncing up. The body weight rests entirely on the left plant foot; the upper body rotates at the hip to the right (right shoulder turns backward). The eyes are on the ball, which also brings the upper body slightly over the ball. - When receiving and carrying the ball with the outside of the foot, the ankle opens inward. The lower leg is also angled inward at the knee, so the foot movement can go from top to bottom and left to right toward the ball. The contact surface is the entire outer side of the foot. - 24 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
