Diving for Balls

Setup

Several balls are placed at intervals of 3-6 metres at various positions. The goalkeeper stands near the balls.

Procedure

The goalkeeper dives to ball 1 and controls it, stands up, leaves it, and chooses another ball (2) to dive for, etc.

Tip

- Training the diving technique. - The takeoff is performed either without or with only one intermediate step. Multiple steps result in too much time lost. The body weight is on the push-off leg during takeoff. - The goalkeeper falls to the side with a swing step. To the right by swinging through the right foot and pushing off sideways through the balls of the feet. To the left by swinging through the left foot. - The ground-near leg is bent during the fall. - When getting up, briefly use one hand to push off; the other hand is ready to react.
