Double Give-and-Go

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players

Setup

Four cones are set up as specified. Three players stand at each of the two large cones, and one player stands at each small cone.

Procedure

The blue player begins with a short pass to the stationary blue wall passer, who plays a direct return into the run. Then a direct pass follows to the red stationary wall passer, who again plays a direct return into the run. Finally, the blue player plays a direct pass to the large cone of the red group. There, the red teammate plays his two give-and-gos with the wall passers in reverse order. The blue player runs to the red group after his two give-and-gos.

Tip

- The ball-expecting player starts his counter-movement simultaneously with the passer's backswing. - The passer must adjust his running speed to the pass speed. - Do not place the plant foot too far from the ball and make sure the players do not lean backward. - Pass timing and start timing are decisive. - Often the players run faster than they pass. - Demand pass sharpness and accuracy. - 4 cones
