Double One-Two Against Active/Passive Defender

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players

Setup

Three cones are set up in a triangle formation according to the diagram. At the top cone, three players stand; at the bottom cone, two players. At the side cone, one player stands, and inside the cone triangle on the field, another player (blue D).

Procedure

A plays a one-two with player B. Then he plays another one-two with player C (past the passive defender D). He relays the return pass to the left into the running path of player C, who takes the ball at maximum speed and dribbles to the other side. Player A runs through to player C's station after his last pass. Alternative: Player D becomes active and can freely move to the left or right.

Tip

- The player expecting the ball starts his decoy run at the same time as the passer's delivery motion. - The wall-passer must adjust his running speed to the pass speed. - Do not place the standing foot too far from the ball and ensure the players do not lean backward. - The pass timing and start timing are crucial. - Players often run faster than they pass. - Demand pass sharpness and accuracy. - The first touch should be taken with one contact. - 3 cones
