Doubling and Ball Recovery

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

  • 12 cones in 2 colors
  • 2 triangles to mark the defenders' positions
  • 1 cone goal for the attackers

Procedure

  • The attacker tries to enter the defenders' triangles. 2 defenders attempt to double-team the attacker.
  • If the defenders win the ball, they must dribble through the central cone goal.

Tip

Coaching Points

  • Allow the 2nd defender to come into the field from different starting positions: sideways, from behind, or from the front.
  • The defenders should attempt to double-team the attacker immediately.
  • The attacker must utilize their acquired speed and use various feints to overcome 2 defenders.
