Dribbling + 1v1 on Command

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

The goalkeeper stands in the goal and the goalkeeper coach (GC) stands with the ball between 12 and 25 m from the goal depending on the dribbling position.

Procedure

The goalkeeper lies face down on his stomach. The GC dribbles the ball toward the goal and gives the goalkeeper a command during the dribble. As soon as the goalkeeper hears the command, he gets up as quickly as possible and tries to win the 1v1 situation.

Tip

- The goalkeeper must be highly concentrated. - When getting up, briefly use one hand to push off while the other hand is ready to react. If he chooses to stand up on his right leg first, he then pushes off with his left. If he is lying with his upper body sideways to the left, he supports himself forward with both arms and stands up on his right leg first, then pushes off with his left. - Foot/toes point toward the ball, not forward. - The goalkeeper should try to only watch the ball and not react to body feints from the player. Furthermore, it is important that he does not throw himself down in front of the player too quickly, but stays on his feet as long as possible and closes down the shooting angle by coming toward the ball carrier. - Stay on his feet as long as possible, spread arms and adopt a shoulder-width stance. - Close down the angle for the attacker by rushing out quickly. Slow down the tempo just before reaching the attacker and move lightly on the balls of the feet. - Don't spread the legs too wide. - The goalkeeper comes out no further than the penalty spot. - 1 full-size goal(s)
