The goalkeeper stands in the goal. 2 players position themselves on the field as shown in the diagram. Player A stands between the penalty area line and the sideline, approximately 4-5 m from the end line. Player B stands approx. 20-25 m centrally from the goal.
Procedure
Player A dribbles to the end line and passes the ball back to player B. Player B takes the ball and tries to dribble past the goalkeeper. Intensity: 4-6 rounds, then switch sides.
Tip
- The goalkeeper must first concentrate on the passer and recognise whether he is dribbling toward goal, crossing, passing or shooting. Depending on the action, he must close down the shooting angle while also keeping the player in the centre of the field in sight. - The goalkeeper should try to only watch the ball and not react to body feints from the player. - Stay on his feet as long as possible, spread arms and adopt a shoulder-width stance. - Close down the angle for the attacker by rushing out quickly. Slow down the tempo just before reaching the attacker and move lightly on the balls of the feet. - Don't spread the legs too wide. - The goalkeeper comes out no further than the penalty spot. - 1 full-size goal(s)
