Dribbling course + feints in a square maze

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

Set up a square with a cone course as shown in the diagram.

Procedure

The player moves freely through the dribbling course and decides which dribbling paths to take and whether and which feints to use. Using the two different cone colours, the coach can call out that the player may only dribble through cones of one colour.

Tip

- Start slowly and increase the pace. - Keep choosing new dribbling paths. - The upper body is slightly leaned forward at the start of the dribble. When stopping and pulling the ball back, it straightens up slightly. - When performing a body feint, the centre of gravity shifts to the right or left due to the typical lateral bending of the upper body. - Do not lean backward. - The arms are bent at the elbow and swing at the sides of the body following the natural arm movement during running/walking. - Bend the leg when taking the ball. - The ball should only be touched lightly ("gently"). A feel for the ball must be developed. - The eyes should regularly leave the ball (alternating between looking at the ball and looking ahead). - Keep the tempo high. - As many touches as possible. - The legs are slightly bent at the knee during execution. - Close ball control (the ball should not be more than 50 cm from the foot). - 30 cones
