Dribbling + Feints Variation I

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players

Setup

Set up multiple opposing cones as shown in the diagram. The players distribute across the cones. The respective starting player has a ball.

Procedure

The ball-carrying players start with a dribble to the other side. During the dribble, different feints should be executed. Shortly before the opposite cone, the ball is handed over to the player there.

Tip

- Different feints can be practised, but feints can also be repeated for better automatisation. - The players must develop a running and handover timing and keep looking up during the dribble. - Demand clean, tight ball control (ball is no more than 50 cm from the foot) and fast dribbling. - The ball handover is performed at approx. 50-100 cm distance from each other. - After the ball handover, a 2-3 m sprint follows (breaking away from the opponent). - As soon as the handover takes place, the next two players start (red/grey - start timing). - The drill can easily be trained with up to 20 players. - 4 cones
