Set up cones as shown in the diagram. Players distribute evenly at the four outer cones. Balls are placed at the outer cones.
Procedure
Player A dribbles at maximum speed toward the third cone and hooks off there. Then dribbles back to the second cone, hooks off again and dribbles to the fourth cone to Player B. Player B takes over the ball and does the same in the other direction. Players C and D start simultaneously with A and B. Variations: - Different dribbling techniques - Add feints - Ball handover and pickup at the last cone - Multiple stations start simultaneously
Tip
- Explosive start. - Approximately 1 metre before the cone, begin the wind-up motion for the hook and direction change. - The direction changes are first practised with both left and right. - The ball handover should occur in motion, meaning the player waiting for the ball starts (start timing) their movement when the dribbler begins the wind-up for the handover. - If Player A dribbles with the left foot, the waiting player starts offset to the right from their perspective, so the handover space can be closed. - Short, quick steps with close ball control (maximum 50 cm distance from ball to foot). - Constantly look up from the ball to keep teammates in view. - 8 cones
