Dribbling in the diamond with a focus on feint

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players

Setup

Construction of a cone cross according to the graphic. The players are evenly distributed on the four outer cones. Every player has a ball.

Procedure

All four players dribble to the cone in the middle at the same time. In front of the cone, play a feint (e.g. step-over to the right / left, pirouette to the right / left) and continue dribbling to the cone on the right or left (according to the fictional specification of the coach). As soon as the first four players have practiced their trick, the next four players start immediately, etc.

Tip

- Make sure that the players start at the same time. - Clean, tight ball guidance (ball should not be more than 50 cm from the foot) and demand fast dribbling. - Start the feint execution approx. 2 m before the cone. - After the feint there is a 2-3 m long sprint (release from the opponent). - As soon as the last of the four players has done his trick, the next four players start (start timing). - The exercise can easily be trained with up to 20 players at the same time. - 5 cones
