Dribbling + pass + taking the ball + duel in 1 against 1

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players

Setup

Four small squares are built up so that together they form a large square. The players position themselves with balls according to the graphic at the head end between the cones.

Procedure

Player D starts in tempo dribbling towards the middle of the field and plays a diagonal pass into the run of player E. The latter tries to dribble over the opposite baseline. D sprints to him and tries to stop him. If he wins the ball, he may try to dribble across the opposite sideline himself. Then all players line up on the opposite side.

Tip

- When the passer starts swinging, this is the start signal for the player waiting for the ball. - The timing of the start and the ability to take the ball are of the utmost importance in this exercise. The right player also has to continue running immediately after the pass. - Defensive duel (capturing the ball is the top priority! Do not shoot the ball away.) - Positioning the body in such a way that the opponent is pushed outwards away from the goal. Seal the way to the baseline. Stand to one side, offer side; lure the opponent to where I want him; then push the body in between to capture the ball. - Stand on the footpads, not your whole foot. - Try to slow down the opponent's pace. (This way, time should be gained for the other defenders in the game.) - Offensive duel If possible, approach the opponent at the highest speed. At a slow pace, try using a body fake. - 9 cones
