Dribbling + Shot in Zone

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players

Setup

Each player has a ball. Set up as shown in the diagram.

Procedure

Players stand at the cone farther from the goal. The player dribbles with the ball toward the goal. At the level of the second cone, the player shoots on goal from the run. As soon as the player has shot on goal, the next one can begin dribbling.

Tip

- Ensure a high tempo while dribbling. - Immediately after one player has shot, the next one starts to avoid delays. - Demand different shooting techniques (inside of the foot, instep, outside of the foot, etc.) - Also demand shots with the weak foot (always alternating: once right, once left, etc.). - Pay attention to body posture when shooting (upper body over the ball; standing foot approx. 30-40 cm to the side of the ball, foot points in the direction of the shot; arms swing along; the arm closest to the shooting leg follows the leg's backswing (when shooting with the right, the right arm swings back and the left arm goes forward); the eyes are on the ball at the moment of the shot). - 1 small goal(s), 2 cones
