Duel opportunity in a rectangle

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players

Setup

A field is marked out with cones. A cone gate is built on both sides of the field. 8 field players position themselves according to the graphic on the edge of the field. The red players have a ball. To mark the approach line, a cone is placed on the side lines.

Procedure

The red player A1 sprints to the starting line, ticks off and runs free. At this moment, player A2 plays the ball into his path. At the same moment, the blue defensive player B1 starts to attack A1. The offensive player tries to turn towards the cone goal of the blue team and to score a goal. If B1 comes into possession of the ball, he may score on the opposite goal. If the ball goes out or the duel lasts longer than 30 seconds, it is over and the next two players start. After 3 minutes the groups change positions and thus the right to attack also changes. If player A1 does not want to attack anymore, it is possible to play the ball into his cone goal to swap with one of his teammates. That would mean, for example, that A2 attacks B1. After 30 seconds the pair of players is automatically changed. Both teams count their goals. A goal only counts if the ball goes flat and without touching the cone. Alternative: - B passes the ball to A, it moves towards B at speed. - After the player has opened, the pass player may attack and a 2 against 1 is created. - After the player has opened, the pass player and a second defensive player may join in and a 2 against 2 is created.

Tip

- Precise, sharp passing game in the course of the attacking player. - The offensive player must tick off at the highest pace. - Demand fakes again and again. - The defensive player tries to win the duel with possession of the ball. - The defender should close the way to the goal. Stand laterally so that the attacker has to choose the path away from the goal. - Disrupt the attacker when he takes the ball to prevent him from turning and picking up speed. - In a duel, the defensive player should try to get his body between the opponent and the ball. - 10 cones
