Finishing Training: Triple Finish

  • Age U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

Pitch: Three dummies or poles represent the opponents; there is a goal at one end.

Equipment: 3 dummies or poles, 1 goal and several balls.

Players: Three groups — central, right and left; plus one goalkeeper.

Procedure

  • The action starts centrally: the player dribbles towards the dummy, goes past it with a feint and finishes at goal.
  • Immediately afterwards this player plays a one-two with the right-hand player.
  • The right-hand player lays the ball off square to the left-hand player, who finishes first time at goal.
  • The central player makes an overlapping run around the right-hand dummy and receives a ball played into the space by the coach.
  • This player crosses to the players making crossing runs in the middle, who finish first time if possible.
  • Afterwards the players collect the balls and join one of the three groups on their own.

Tip

  • Change pace after the feint.
  • In the one-two, change pace after the first pass.
  • Pass firmly into the team-mate's foot.
  • Do not make the run too early.
  • Drop away on the far side from the ball beforehand and then make a diagonal run towards the goal and the crosser.
