Four-defense chain player opening - game / fit 3

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

At the level of the penalty area, 4 defenders are positioned next to each other at a distance of 12-17 m. On the left on the outline is the LAF, on the right the LIV, then the RIV and on the right side the RAV. At the level of the center line, 4 midfielders are compared as follows: opposite to the LAF is the LAM, opposite to the LIV is the HLM, opposite to the RIV is the HRM and opposite to the RAV is the RAM. The players face each other. To get a feeling for the different positions, the two central defender positions can alternatively be taken by the goalkeepers and the two half positions in the middle by the two strikers. Player positions in the 4-4-2 game system: TH - goalkeeper LAV - left full-back LIV - left central defender RIV - right central defender RAV - right full-back LAM - left outer midfielder HLM - half left midfielder HRM - half right midfielder RAM - right outer midfielder LST - left RST - right striker

Procedure

The opening of the players with the focus on the side shift with different pass routes is rehearsed. The player opens via the left full-back. A direct passing game (only with one contact) is rehearsed. The following pass sequence takes place: 1 - LAV plays a cross pass to LIV 2 - LIV fits crosswise to RIV 3 - RIV fits crosswise to RAV 4 - RAV fits crosswise to RIV 5 - RIV fits diagonally to HLM 6 - HLM fits diagonally to LAV 7 - LAV fits longline to LAM 8 - LAM fits longline to LAV This pass variant serves to open the player and can be trained as an endless loop. However, the side for opening the player should always be changed. That also start the pass sequence via the RAV. In this case, the HRM and RAM are included. Alternative: - Depending on the level of performance, the passing game can also take place with two contacts. The ball is accepted with the first contact and continued with the second.

Tip

- Due to the requirement profile of this excercise, the players must be highly concentrated. - The passes should be played with the inside or as an inside kick. - Demand precision, sharpness and accuracy. - Start slowly first and then get faster. - The player expecting the pass goes into a short counter-movement at the same time as the pass-out movement of the pass-giver or runs towards the passer and passes the ball directly in the forward movement (with 1 contact). - The pass should be played in the path of the ball-waiting starter. - The pass player must observe the path of the player waiting for the ball. - The start movement of the pass recipient takes place with the pass movement of the pass player. - Due to the kick-off movement of the pass recipient (one step back, then the pass for a short distance of 2-4 m), the distance between the two pass players is briefly reduced by approx. 4-8 m, because the pass giver also runs towards the ball in anticipation of the ball. - 8 cones
