The 3-5-2 system as 1-2-4-1-2 with libero and cover initially defines only the number of field players in the individual team parts. The goalkeeper is initially excluded from this counting method in the exercise title. The individual team parts are indicated in lines. The first line is the goalkeeper. The second line is the Libero, which plays behind the third line, the two man cover. The four defensive midfielders form the fourth line, the offensive midfielder the fifth and the striker duo the sixth line. If the own team has the ball, the goalkeeper moves between his goal and the middle of his own field half, so that he has a distance of approx. 20 meters to the defense chain and is always playable as a kind of libero and can intervene in the back of the defense with long shots. The field players should take advantage of the width and depth of the entire field when they have the ball. If you have the ball, the staggering of four attacking players means that you have a good number of play options close to the goal dangerous area. If the opponent has the ball, the team moves within the defensive network in the 1-2-4-1-2 line formation on an area of maximum 35 x 35 meters. The defensive formation is characterized in your starting position by a line positioning of the individual team parts. However, game-related changes can occur here. If the libero is low, the two cover players follow the paths of the opposing strikers, the four defensive midfielders move just like the offensive midfielder and the two strikers as well. This means that five lines of defense can be formed for each situation. It is important to keep certain distances between each other, which ensures optimal defense of your own goal. These distances are usually as follows: 7-12 meters wide and 8-15 meters deep. The distances between the individual players and team parts can vary due to an inconsistent game pace, changes in the game situation or due to a temporary outnumbered play. In the team alliance, a compact, disciplined shift is aimed at, with the aim of narrowing the spaces and thus not allowing the opponent to pass into the depth on the one hand, and depriving him of the opportunity to start individual actions on the other. One of the most important tactical duel measures is to steer the ball-carrying player onto the outside lane and to get possession of the ball by double, and to direct the opening of the opposing team to the outside players by shifting the pass routes there so that only the pass towads the middle is possible. There the player is then doubled and put under massive pressure.
