Give-and-Go + Shot

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players

Setup

Set up a starting cone and a wall-pass cone as shown. One player goes to the wall-pass cone, the rest with balls go to the starting cone. The goalkeeper stands in the goal.

Procedure

The starting player plays a give-and-go with the wall passer and finishes with a first-time shot. Option: Shooting competition. Count goals. The wall passer may convert the rebound.

Tip

- The goalkeeper always orients himself toward the respective shooter. - Due to the high variability of the shots, the goalkeeper must react very differently. - The goalkeeper's goal is always to hold onto the ball. - The goalkeeper acts as soon as the ball leaves the shooter's foot. - The jump is made either without or with only one intermediate step. Multiple steps represent too much time loss. The body weight is on the push-off leg during the jump. - The goalkeeper jumps with a swing step to the side. To the right by generating momentum through the right foot and pushing off laterally through the balls of the feet. To the left by generating momentum through the left foot. - The pass to the wall passer is played to his strong foot. - The wall passer makes a short counter-movement as soon as the starting player goes into the backswing and then comes briefly toward the ball. - The goal for the field players is to learn the correct inside-of-the-foot shot, instep shot, inside-instep shot, and curling technique to increase shot power and shot precision. - 2 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
